2023-03-19

As already announced at the time, the Journal of Income Distribution (JID) launched a Special Issue in honor of Professor and distinguished scholar Nanak Kakwani. A virtual gathering was held to introduce that issue of the Journal, Volume 31, Numbers 3-4: September-December 2022, guest-edited by Jacques Silber and Hyun Son, ‘Nanak Kakwani’s Legacy on the Study of Income Inequality, Poverty, and Tax Progressivity’. On this occasion, 28 September 2022, through online Zoom, renowned economists Stephen Jenkins, Gary Fields, Kunal Sen, and Francisco Ferreira paid tribute to a remarkable scholar.  For those who weren't aware of the event and who are interested in the work of Kakwani, please find here the link to the video capture of all the presentations on that day, including Professor Kakwani's gracious reply.
